I love using Pinterest to find new craft ideas, recipes and daydream… (If you don’t have a Pinterest account, you should get one). It is basically a never ending website of pictures and ideas. Rachel and I used Pinterest to come up with some ideas for the Baby Shower, including the recipe below Chocolate Dipped Oreos. Although, they did not turn out as we envisioned because they were supposed to be Oreo Pops. We could not find lolly-pop sticks thin enough to fit between the Oreo without breaking the cookie. Hence, Chocolate Dipped Oreos!
Chocolate Dipped Oreos
1 package of Oreos
Package of cupcake liners
Variety of sprinkles
Parchment Paper
2 packages of candy melts
- Place candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and cook for 45 seconds, stir and then cook another 30 seconds (or until melted).
- Set up decorating area with Styrofoam blocks, bowls of sprinkles, melted candy melts and lolly-pop sticks.
- Apply a thin layer of candy melts to half of an Oreo.

- Sprinkle Oreo with sprinkles.

- Place on Parchment Paper to cool.

- Once hardened put in cupcake liners and serve!

Lesson learned: just because it worked on Pinterest, does not mean it will work in the real world. This probably also applies to the tons of pinboards for multi-million dollar dream houses and weddings too.
